Our Story.
Carroll County’s Residential Home was established in 1853. The existing structure was built in 1910 and expanded and modernized in 2008. This graceful, two-story brick home boasts enough rooms to accommodate 30 residents comfortably. There are a limited number of rooms which can accommodate couples. Please call for availability.
The peaceful country setting with a large yard, mature trees and colorful flowers allow the residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Inside the country décor and furnishings create a warm, safe and homey atmosphere.
Today Carroll Manor continues the tradition of caring for people who are older, developmentally disabled, or for various reasons unable to live on their own, yet don’t require nursing care. Our caring staff believes that it is very important that residents feel at home. Many residents and families comment that our Home is like a Country Bed and Breakfast!
Who owns and operates Carroll Manor?
Carroll Manor is owned by Carroll County, Indiana and operated by the Board of Commissioners. The Superintendent is Kimberly Roy.
What is a Residential Care Home versus an Assisted Living Facility?
Residential care homes are typically smaller than assisted living facilities. Many residential care homes are converted homes. Residential care home residents live in a home environment versus the more institutional environment of an assisted living facility.
What healthcare assistance is provided by Carroll Manor?
Carroll Manor provides prescription coordination and medication reminders for residents. Residents are responsible for selecting their own health care providers.
Do residents have to come from Carroll County?
No. The primary mission of Carroll Manor is to serve seniors living in Carroll County, however, Carroll Manor will accept residents from surrounding counties if capacity permits.
Are residents permitted to have vehicles?
Yes. Carroll Manor has adequate parking and allows residents to have vehicles.
